I think that the Katherine Applegate decided to name the chapter Oops, because Ivan made a mistake by not getting mad at Kinyani because if Ivan did he would get respect as a silverback .
I think that the author chose to name oops for the chapter because Ivan did not do what he was supposed to do and the other gorilla Kinyani threw a stick at Ivan showing that Ivan did not do the thing that he was supposed to do and that is why I think that the author chose to name that chapter oops because Ivan did the wrong thing.
I think that the author chose the chapter to be called “Oops” because Ivan is being tested by Kinyani and he makes an accident. Page 278 said,”Kinyani chases me. She throws a stick at me. She corners me. I know she’s testing me to see if I’m a real silverback,one that can protect her family.”That’s why I think that the chapter is called “Oops”.
I think the author named the chapter Oops because Ivan had no clue on what to do when he was in the domain.Ivan did not know how to groom,play,nest or show love in a gorilla way.Last Ivan does not know how to be a true silverback nor show the others that he is the leader of them all.When his girlfriend tested him but he showed no aggressiveness which you need to protect a group.
